Many of our clients know they really need to refresh their website, social media and print marketing with well thought out and effective professional branding images. These business leaders know that these on message images are critical to building a connection with their customers and uplevel their brand. Marketing savvy entrepreneurs also know that consistency in visual messaging builds trust and that a well thought out visual branding strategy will save lots of time and energy in the future.

But despite the clear benefits of branding photography some of the Seattle area small business owners I work with were initially hesitant. They had questions.  Here are the FAQ we get – answered now.

 

Why branding photography? I just need a few headshots

There really is a substantial difference between a well thought out visual branding strategy and “just some quick photos”. Our branding photography sessions produce intentional photographs that help build a connection with your clients, that not only look professional but also improve the consistency in your visual strategy and most importantly, show off who you are and what makes your business unique.

Four our branding photography we meet with you first, learn about your business, agree on a visual branding strategy and  develop a shot list before the photoshoot. That’s how you know you’ll get what you want. The shoot itself is just the fun part where you get to be yourself and have us take care of the rest.

How fast can I get branding photos?

Branding sessions are usually booked at least one month in advance, but sometimes we can fit you in more quickly, just let us know. First we usually meet in person or on the phone or via Zoom to discuss your brand and marketing goals and develop a strategy for your branding session. After we get the paperwork signed it is time to lock down a date for the actual photoshoot. The turnaround time between the photoshoot and the delivery of an online gallery with your images is usually just a few days.

 

How much does branding photography cost?

The total price depends on the scope for your project. Clients typically spend around $3,000 to show off different aspects of their business in a consistent and professional manner with a comprehensive marketing image package. We also offer starter packages for entrepreneurs that are at an early stage of establishing an online presence, as well as a variety of monthly, quarterly and yearly packages to keep your images current - consistent, fresh content for social media. How much time do I need for a photoshoot?

That’s really up to you. We offer quick “brand refresh” packages that take less than an hour of shoot time. These sessions are often booked by customers that already have a visual brand strategy and may only need a few new images for a website make-over or for print ads.  Most of our customers are looking for more in-depth packages that tell multiple brand stories.  These photoshoots typically take a few hours and will produce a whole library of marketing images for a variety of purposes including fresh social media content showing off what makes your business unique and relatable.

 

I’m kind of camera shy – how can I get good branding photos?

No problem! You’re not alone. Most people are a bit shy round a camera and may initially feel  reluctant to be photographed – completely normal! In our personal branding photo-shoots we help you feel comfortable.

We start out photographing your tools and process, try some candids before getting to more focused portrait shots. We will guide you through different poses, we will try different lighting set-ups and environments that help you relax into the experience and start having fun. My office isn’t that photogenic – What is a good location for branding photos?

During our initial brand exploration meeting we will evaluate locations that support the brand story you want to create. This can be your work space, outdoor locations that have the right vibe, your favorite coffee shop or a space where you meet with clients. During a typical branding photo-shoot we really want to show the variety of environments where your work happens and the stories that make your business unique.


How often do I need a brand photography session?

How often you need to schedule a branding photography shoot depends on a few things: Some businesses want to grow a visual library for a number of marketing efforts, other organizations just need a limited number of images to refresh their website.  
Some solopreneurs want to get active marketing on social media.  Some businesses want to tell new brand stories to reach new clients - other just need to maintain their existing client base with fresh images.

Every situation is different and we can help you figure out what works best for you. Our recommendation is to schedule a photo session at least once a year to keep your visuals current. Time flies and you don’t want to look dated. If you want to grow your business with an active social media presence, a session every 3 months is recommended to produce a vault of images to post throughout the quarter. We offer specially priced packages for clients that work with us on a recurring schedule.
